As a therapist with a background in social work and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), I take a holistic approach to mental health. Whether you are struggling with overwhelming emotions, having difficulty with sex and intimacy, or relying on unhealthy vices to cope, a partnership in counseling can be the answer to lasting change. I make it a priority to cultivate a safe and nonjudgmental space where all individuals and partnerships are welcomed and honored. Too many people struggle silently with challenges around depression, anxiety, addiction, trauma, and sexual health. As your therapist, I will honor your healing journey as you build a new relationship with yourself and your loved ones. It is my passion to support clients in achieving wellness as it is defined uniquely by each individual. I work with my clients to explore challenges, maximize strengths, and incorporate evidence-based tools on their path to mental health, recovery, authentic expression, erotic liberation, and pleasure, at a comfortable pace.
My clients describe me as warm, easy to talk to, attentive and insightful. They appreciate my consistency, My approach is holistic in nature, looking at how your mind, body and emotional self are reacting to what has happened to you. Most people say they have a reduction in symptoms and feel more hope after just a few sessions. I will provide you with effective, evidence-based, fully licensed psychotherapy, individualized just for you. I offer tools for stress reduction, depression management, anxiety relief, relationships and trauma. I also provide therapy for highly sensitive and neurodivergent individuals who may need extra support and understanding about the ways their body reacts to our busy world. Internalized trauma shows up in many ways. Feeling overwhelmed, anxious, shut down or even paralyzed from challenging experiences or situations is difficult. Ignoring trauma and abuse, past or present, does not make it go away. Compartmentalizing it does not leave it in the past. Talking about it means you are willing to start taking control and find your path towards healing. Together we can begin to sort out what has happened and find ways to help you feel better.

Therapy will be different for each person depending upon their needs and temperament. For some people, I say little and provide support and encouragement. For others, I am more active speaking frequently and challenging them to think in new ways. Ultimately, change occurs through the therapeutic relationship.
Are you experiencing anxiety, depression, or overwhelm due to a life transition? Are you frustrated because your typical coping strategies just aren't working? There are so many types of transitions that are challenging: career change or uncertainty, loss, relationship changes, divorce, becoming a parent, or a new health issue. It's very common to feel anxious or shut down in these situations. You might have racing thoughts about what to do, be stuck in decision paralysis, or you might feel like you lack energy and motivation for change. And sometimes previous negative experiences or traumas get activated at these times and contribute to a feeling of stuckness. I can help you navigate through the overwhelm and stuckness, so that you can feel more grounded, confident, and connected again. We will look at your values and priorities as we set goals for our work together. We will also talk about how your nervous system is reacting to current stress, review coping strategies that have worked in the past, and practice new strategies that will enable you to move out of fight, flight, freeze. We'll address internalized negative messages, stuck patterns, and previous traumas using EMDR and IFS, and work on expanding your coping strategies. You can feel calm, clear, and engaged in life again.
The focus of my practice is to help adults who have experienced childhood sexual abuse as well as more recent sexual assault, as well as other developmental traumas. My work also often focuses on family of origin conflict and present boundary setting in all areas of one's life. In treatment, I begin with psychoeducation, feeling identification, exploration of interpersonal patterns, and stress-reduction skills before gently helping the client explore their trauma narrative. Email is the best way to contact me initially; After we connect, I am happy to talk in more detail over the phone about my practice and whether I would be a good fit for you before making an appointment.
My clinical approach is driven by my belief that people have the right to be themselves and lead fulfilling lives according to their values and culture. People know best what works for them and have the innate power to discover solutions for themselves. I also possess a strong faith in the ability and resiliency of people to make the necessary changes to flourish in their lives. Since therapy involves a major commitment of self, time, money, and energy, individuals should be very thoughtful about the therapist they select. I encourage people to make sure they feel comfortable with me and my approach in order to begin therapy. Throughout our time together, I will elicit feedback on how the therapeutic process is working for you. Therapy starts with an examination and evaluation of the presenting concern. I then work with clients to establish their personal goals. Therapeutic change occurs by helping people express and own their painful emotions and experiences within the safety of a therapeutic relationship. A safe therapeutic relationship also provides a non-judgmental environment where people are safe to express their deepest thoughts and emotions. I help people better understand their feelings, thoughts, interpersonal patterns, values as well as the past familial roots of their current difficulties. In addition, I actively seek out the fundamental strengths in each individual. I also address the impact of internalized oppression on our daily lives. As an African American woman, I understand the harm societys preconceived ideas can have on the individual spirit. I strive to ensure all therapy is culturally appropriate. I believe these factors help people move beyond their current challenges and experience hope, healing and growth. The ultimate goal of therapy is to remove the barriers which are preventing you from living your best life. My style is to take an emphatic, active, honest, non-judgmental, and direct approach. I am here to help people flourish, take action on the things which are important for you, move in a direction that is valuable and worthy, identify values and experience a powerful sense of strength and vitality.

We’ll pay close attention to the pace of work that’s right for you. We’ll work together to develop your ability to be mindfully present and peaceful in your daily life. We can look at the coping tools you’ve been using, and look for ways to make them more adaptive for your present life. We can use some powerful tools to strengthen your internal resources. All these methods work to help you be well-grounded more often, in more situations, even in stressful times. Trauma work doesn’t have to be as painful as you might imagine, and I’ll be with you helping find ways to make it as gentle as possible. EMDR, integrated with Super Resourcing and Parts work, can help you stay within your range of emotional tolerance. Overall the aim is to balance progress with gentleness. Personal Beliefs: I am a longtime ally of People of Color, women, LGBTQIA people, and I support social, economic, and environmental justice. I believe that deep down, we are meant to exist in community and connection. I strongly believe in everyone’s inherent right to discover who they are, and to live their fullest life.
Ideally, I work with clients who are seeking deeper understanding and meaningful change, often after experiencing trauma, emotional pain, or life transitions. They come to my practice feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or searching for clarity and healing. Together, we create a safe, compassionate space, and I use evidence-based and insight-oriented approaches to help you build awareness, develop resilience, and move forward with greater purpose and stability. I work with couples and individuals. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Florida, I build trust with my psychotherapy clients by creating a safe, nonjudgmental space, listening deeply, and showing consistent respect for their experiences. I understand how difficult it can be to feel stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure where to turn, and you don’t have to face that alone. If you’re ready to take a step toward healing and understanding, I warmly invite you to reach out. Together, we can begin creating a path forward that feels safe, supportive, and meaningful.
