My job as a therapist is to facilitate the process of healing and change using evidence-based treatments and a humanizing stance. I am fully committed to meeting the individual needs of my clients and I make every effort to personally tailor the process. I am grateful each day to play a role in the facilitation of healing and transformation. I am truly fulfilled by my work because I see the positive impact it makes on a person's life.
I help people transform the parts of themselves that keep them from feeling calm, tranquil, peaceful, patient, accepting, forgiving, clear, kind, compassionate, self-compassionate, loving, joyful, playful, excited for life, confident, trusting, connected, hopeful, optimistic, purposeful, grateful, creative and free to be their authentic self. None of us was born with the things we struggle with. Although it takes time to change and it can be difficult emotional work at times, I can tell you from personal experience that it feels absolutely wonderful to release the burdens we carry and return to feeling hopeful, optimistic, confident, loving, happy, joyful, playful, calm and appreciative of the good things in life. Regardless of what you have been through or how difficult things are in this moment, it is possible, with sufficient time, energy, and intention, to change, heal, and feel better. Despite the external circumstances we face and all the suffering that circulates among humans, it is possible to find peace within. Deep within all of us is a place that already holds everything we have been seeking, which is simply to feel good. It’s a place inside, whether you have experienced it or not, that has the capacity for peace, calm, clarity, confidence, courage, compassion, connection, trust, and joy, among many other beautiful qualities. The intention of my work is to help people reconnect with and reunite with these qualities.
Our families are our first social environment and, consequently, are powerful in how they shape our behavior. There is nothing like a romantic relationship to put us in touch with the attachment wounds, negative patterns, or roles with which we grew up. In fact, Imago theory posits that we will actually choose a mate that is exquisitely designed to push our buttons! The idea, of course, is to propel us to grow and change. Often, however, I find that this is the gridlock in which couples find themselves when they present to therapy. My expertise comes into play in holding the space for clients to examine themselves and their relationships in such a way as to enlarge their view and their capacity for change. My experience, education, and intuition allow me a razor sharp focus to see and interrupt negative patterns of interaction and collaboratively move them in a more healthful direction.
If you’re someone who prioritizes other people's needs over your own, if you question your deservingness and worth, if you feel sensitive and overwhelmed by an intense world, if your perfectionism won’t let you relax, or if your physical and mental health are impacting your relationships and quality of life, I am really glad you are here. Many of these issues can leave you feeling isolated, lost, directionless or lacking a sense of identity and purpose. I use a holistic approach help my clients discover and change their patterns of behavior formed by being othered in their day to day life, chronic stress, chronic illness, family dysfunction and trauma. My clients tend to be those who experience oppression, people in the LGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities, 1st and 2nd generation immigrants, highly sensitive people, those with chronic illness, and those who work high stress jobs sometimes including secondary trauma. I welcome all walks of life to this space and strive to help you feel safe enough to unravel the complexity of who you are, with me as your witness. The therapy I provide asks you to be brave enough to go into deeper and more vulnerable places where you can unearth how you truly feel and experience the world. Therapy with me will help you move you towards living more authentically, recover your sense of purpose, awe and meaning, and hopefully live a more peaceful life. I use Internal Family Systems, EMDR, strengths-based, relational healing and somatic awareness therapies to help you heal your traumas, phobias, negative beliefs, etc. I offer a free 20-minute consultation and look forward to hearing more about what brings you to therapy.

In addition to my clinical training in Solution-Focused Therapy, I exude openness, respect, curiosity, and accountability. I bring these characteristics into therapy sessions to bring balance and restoration into my clients’ lives. Whether there is a crisis happening, a personal desire for self-improvement, or something in-between, therapy can bring added support and guidance along on the journey. I believe everyone experiences therapy in different ways, I am client-centered and collaborate ways to empower and renew hope in my client’s lives.
As a therapist, I work to develop a relationship of collaboration and attunement to support clients in realizing the change they seek in their lives. I have extensive experience with adults and teens working through trauma, anxiety, and depression, as well as family and other relational issues, work stress and life transitions. I use a variety of practical, skills-based techniques nested in larger life-contexts of family and culture, to explore solutions and rediscover hope. I take an active approach giving feedback, suggesting actions, and assigning homework. I will work with you to develop more kindness and compassion for yourself in your journey towards self-discovery and wellness.
For 35 years I've had the good fortune to help adults feel better about themselves & their relationships. My style is warm, straight-forward, & collaborative. I use a strength-based approach and have had success helping with a broad range of life's problems. Issues I work well with include: changing relationship patterns, mid-life issues, women's issues, work-life balance, boundaries and "people-pleasing", assertiveness and self-confidence, and grief and loss. I love to work with family-of origin issues, and help to re-work faulty beliefs rooted in childhood. I work collaboratively with each of my clients to create a specific plan based on strengths, needs, and goals. Depending on what your needs are we may: 1. work psychodynamically: The goals of psychodynamic therapy are to increase self-awareness and understanding of how the past has influenced current life. From there you are freed up to experiment with new ways of being. When you take a risk and do something differently it becomes part of who you are. Old patterns are interrupted and new ways of living are created. 2. work cognitive- behaviorally: The goals of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) are to explore how distorted beliefs may be affecting your current feelings & behavior. By exploring and challenging negative or distorted thoughts, you are then challenged to change related feelings and behavior. 3. work to resolve abuse by weaving back and forth between the "here & now" and the past. I also have several non-clinical women's personal development groups and believe strongly in the power of groups. I'm a seasoned group psychotherapist and am a Certified Group Psychotherapist through the American Group Psychotherapy Association. If you'd like more info on one of my women's group I offer a 20 min informational call at no-charge. Group Offerings: Midlife Women's Group-- Alternate Wednesday eves 4:15-5:30pm. (75 minutes) $60 per session As of August 2026, this group has one opening. "30 Somethings" Women's Group: meets monthly on fourth Friday 12:30-2:15pm (105 min). $80 per session. As of August 2026, this group has 2 openings. "30-40 Somethings" Women's Group: meets monthly on fourth Friday 3:00-4:45pm (105 min). $80 per session. This group is currently full - inquire about waiting list. Group often becomes a meaningful touchstone for members - a space to share experiences, gain perspective, and engage in thoughtful, growth-oriented conversations with other women. These groups are not designed to treat mental illness, but to support self-growth, connection, and deeper self-understanding. Members tend to be self-aware, supportive, and content in most life areas. The group environment is encouraging and enriching, rather than focused on crisis support or clinical treatment. I'm also privileged to be a WA State Certified Clinical Supervisor, and enjoy supervising therapist associates as they work toward licensure.

If there is one constant in life, it's change; a new child, a new job, a new relationship, marriage, or the loss of any of those. I enjoy helping people navigate uncertain times, helping them to find a way through, take a new tack, or tap into hidden strengths. Sometimes we can change the situation; sometimes we must change ourselves, tearing down limiting beliefs and narratives to create new beliefs and narratives that honor our true self, our true values, and our goals. And yet other times we must learn to make peace with what we cannot change. I can help you to distinguish between what can and cannot be changed so that you can reduce the struggle and be more empowered and equipped to move forward in your life as it is. If you are looking here you have most likely been struggling. Whatever you're wanting help with, I am likely helping people with those very same issues every day. Let's work together to create the change you would like to see in your life. Let's make today, the first day of the rest of your life.
