Welcome to my practice! I am a licensed clinical psychologist in both Oregon and California, bilingual in Farsi (Persian), with over 15 years of experience providing treatment to children, adolescents, and adults. I work with a wide range of emotional and behavioral challenges an individual faces in life, including depression, anxiety, traumatic experiences, grief, relationship and parenting issues, work and academic stress, chronic health issues, as well as acculturation and immigration issues. My therapeutic approach is based on the belief that individuals want to lead meaningful and fulfilling lives. Through therapy, I help them cultivate strengths while repairing prior damages, regaining control over struggles, and developing new skills. I have a flexible therapeutic style that draws from several major theoretical approaches to psychotherapy and is tailored to each individual’s needs, cultural background, and expectations from therapy. My goal is to collaborate with each client to help them achieve a greater sense of happiness, peace, and satisfaction in their lives.
My goal is to create an empathic, collaborative, and reflective space where clients can feel comfortable exploring their concerns and goals. I am invested in hearing the experiences and world views of each individual client, providing a space to unpack and reflect on topics brought to session, and recognizing each client's intersecting identities. I work with adults ages 18+ who are seeking support related to trauma, grief and loss, self-esteem issues, communication, and depression. I am committed to supporting individuals in the LGBTQ+ community, BIPOC, and people who are working on personal growth or enhanced self-awareness.
Many of my clients are caring, capable adults who are used to managing life’s challenges on their own but have reached a point where they feel overwhelmed, stuck, or emotionally exhausted. They may be navigating anxiety, grief and loss, relationship difficulties, life transitions, depression, women’s issues, caregiving responsibilities, burnout, or work-life balance concerns. Often, they are seeking a supportive space to process what they’re experiencing, gain perspective, develop practical coping strategies, and reconnect with their strengths as they move toward healing, growth, and a greater sense of balance. I help adults navigate anxiety, depression, grief and loss, life transitions, relationship challenges, women’s issues, stress, burnout, and work-life balance concerns. Together, we’ll build practical tools, strengthen resilience, and create meaningful, lasting change that supports your goals and well-being. Reaching out for support can feel vulnerable, especially when you’re carrying a lot on your own. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply ready for something to change, you don’t have to navigate it alone. I’d be honored to walk alongside you as you move toward healing, growth, and greater peace.
If you’re here, you may be carrying more than you let on. On the outside, you function well — you meet expectations, manage responsibilities, and hold things together. Internally, anxiety, overthinking, or burnout may feel constant. You might struggle to relax, set boundaries, or quiet the pressure you place on yourself. I work with high-functioning adults and couples in Los Angeles, and online across California, Nevada and Oregon, who want more than quick fixes. Together, we slow down enough to understand the patterns beneath persistent anxiety and relational strain. I integrate insight-oriented therapy with practical structure, helping you regulate your nervous system, clarify your needs, and make decisions from a steadier place. Working with me is collaborative and intentional. I will ask thoughtful questions, notice patterns, and gently challenge what no longer serves you. Our work is focused, grounded, and aimed at lasting change — not just temporary relief. If you’re ready for therapy that is both reflective and practical, I invite you to reach out and explore whether this feels like the right fit.
I am the director of MacPherson Pacific Counseling Services, a dynamic new option in the treatment of chemical dependency, problem gambling, and sex addiction in the Seattle area. Your experience will be individualized and goal-focused. You will develop the tools to reclaim your life from addiction and compulsive behavior and begin to develop a path towards healing and wholeness for both yourself and your support network of family and loved ones. In both individual sessions and groups with others also walking the healing path you will challenge yourself, access reservoirs of strength within yourself, learn to connect, and you will grow.
My approach to therapy is primarily based on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). A core idea in ACT is that trying too hard to get rid of or control our emotions tends to backfire. Instead of trying to get rid of unwanted thoughts and feelings, I will help you learn to react differently to them so that you can keep your focus on living a meaningful and fulfilling life based on what’s important to you. We will work together to set meaningful goals to address your concerns–whether they relate to life transitions, depression, anxiety, body image, grief or loss, job or academic stress, or gender and sexuality.
I am currently accepting new clients. I work with my clients in establishing a therapeutic alliance and creating a safe place to work through various life stressors, challenges and mental health conditions. I help my clients develop a better understanding of their condition and develop new skills to handle various challenges. I have a holistic and empathetic approach to treatment addressing challenges from various angles. I help individuals who suffer from anxiety gain more control and handle anxiety better. I also treat individuals suffering from depression using evidence based patient focused treatment methods. Call me and lets work together to achieve a better balance and live life to your fullest potential.
Change is inevitable, and yet repeating patterns and feeling stuck are very common experiences. As counselor, I help clients engage in compassionate and insightful self-explorations, and to build resources and experiences for lasting change. My approach is integrative and relies on established tools and resources from the counseling field, psychology, philosophy, and change theory. My bicultural background and mindfulness practice support a sensitive appreciation for the uniqueness of our experience. I hope to be a resource and will be honored to be part of your journey of growth. I currently only work via video or phone sessions.
Therapy should feel accessible, practical, and useful. I believe you are the expert on your own experience and have the capacity to create meaningful change. My role is to understand your perspective, build on your strengths, and help you develop practical strategies for managing thoughts, emotions, relationships, and everyday challenges. I use an individualized, collaborative approach drawing from CBT, trauma-informed therapy, attachment-based therapy, and supportive psychotherapy. Together, we identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, increase insight and emotional regulation, and develop skills that help you feel more grounded, confident, and capable.
