I believe therapy is a space where you can show up as your full, authentic self—without judgment, shame, or pressure to be anyone other than who you are. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and empowering, with a focus on helping individuals and couples build deeper connections with themselves and one another. I work with individuals and couples to explore relationship dynamics, improve communication, navigate intimacy concerns, and develop a healthier relationship with their bodies and sexuality. Using a sex-positive, body-positive, and empowerment-focused approach, I strive to create a safe space where you can ask questions, challenge old beliefs, explore your needs and desires, and feel more confident advocating for yourself. I believe you are the expert on your own life. My role is to help you better understand yourself, recognize patterns that may no longer serve you, and discover new ways of relating to yourself and others. Whether you are working through relationship challenges, exploring your sexuality, navigating changes in intimacy, or simply hoping to feel more comfortable and confident in your own skin, we will work together to identify what matters most to you and move toward meaningful change. Therapy isn't about fixing who you are; it's about creating space for growth, connection, and possibility. My goal is to help you feel more empowered to build relationships, intimacy, and a life that reflects your values, needs, and authentic self.
Sometimes you can be in a room full of people yet feel completely alone. This feeling of isolation or lack of connection is often the core of depression and anxiety. Once these feelings take hold they can be a constant hindrance, keeping you from reaching your full potential. Often, we know in our hearts that we can excel, but self-doubt creeps in and sabotages our efforts which can keep us from reaching goals. We all have an inner-critic which can take hold though negative self-talk. For example, have you ever said to yourself, "I have no idea what I'm doing - I'm a fraud" or "If people really knew things about me they'd run in the other direction". This inner dialogue can be excruciatingly painful and can be damaging to our self-esteem when left unchecked. In some people this inner critic runs 247 and causes them to lose confidence and engage in behaviors that can compound their problems and make things even worse. I can help. Reaching out can be a hard thing to do, but I am here to support you in your time of need. I want to understand what you're going through. It is vital to have someone on your side, who can accept you unconditionally, who connects and empathizes with you, who offers you a safe place to talk about whatever you need to talk about. Maybe you feel lost and just need to clear your head. We are all different and unique, but I believe we all have the answers inside. Let me help you find your answers.
As a Clinical Psychologist, I listen with an unconditional ear to the needs of each individual or couple I work with. I engage with people who are experiencing emotional pain, sadness, and worry, as well as those who are facing grief, life changes, relationship problems, a history of trauma, and people who are having difficulty adapting to a new medical diagnosis or a chronic medical condition. In my experience, growth means finding a way to become unstuck from a place of discomfort and moving forward with confidence into personal development. I have extensive experience working with people who grapple with anxiety and depression, as well as those with medical issues such as chronic pain and new, life-changing medical circumstances. I am also experienced in successfully treating PTSD and trauma recovery. Prior to living in Maine, I lived in Germany for 6 12 years where I treated active duty military and their families at the U.S. Army hospital (LRMC). I was honored to serve our country as a civilian, and the experience had a profound impact on me professionally.
I work with adolescents, adults, and couples who are looking for new ways to approach their lives. I believe we learn strategies for being in the world from our experiences and social circumstances, and sometimes they work better than others. I also believe that our minds and bodies are a single system, so changes we make in one area are bound to impact the other. As a result, I like to explore creative biopsychosocial solutions. I wholeheartedly believe that my clients are in the driver’s seat. I’m here as a resource, support, and co-explorer through the therapeutic process. In addition to working with concerns like anxiety and depression, I specialize in integrating sexuality issues and mental health. Sexual identity, relationships, love, sex, health, pleasure, and hurt are essential parts of life, but they’re often compartmentalized in therapy. I have the comfort, skill, and knowledge to address these issues holistically. I know that finding a therapist you feel good about working with can be a challenge. We’re not one-size-fits-all. If you think we could be a good fit, please feel free to contact me by phone or email for more information, or to schedule a time to talk.
Have you spent years in personal growth, self-reflection, or therapy, yet still find yourself experiencing anxiety, emotional overwhelm, people-pleasing, perfectionism, or trauma responses? Do you understand your patterns but feel stuck repeating them? If you're navigating a life transition, healing relationship wounds, or longing to feel more connected to yourself, Brainspotting may help you access the deeper healing you're seeking. I aspire to create a space where you feel empowered to get comfortable with the uncomfortable and take the lead in your healing, while my role is to be a partner in your process. As a Certified Brainspotting Practitioner, I help women heal from trauma, childhood wounds, anxiety, emotional overwhelm, and relationship wounds. Brainspotting is a powerful brain-body modality that accesses deeper areas of the brain and nervous system, helping process experiences that may remain unresolved through insight and talk therapy alone. My work is grounded in a client-centered, trauma-informed approach and the belief that growth can emerge from life's challenges. Using an intuitive and compassionate approach, we'll work together to help you reconnect with your authentic self, strengthen self-trust, and move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and ease.
I am a warm, caring clinician that sees clients with many different kinds of issues. I have a specialty in the treatment of OCD, addictions, and job stress. I treat OCD utilizing IFS, EMDR, and AEDP Therapy. I am a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor. I also treat many other forms of addictions. I am fully certified in two evidence based therapies: 1) EMDR or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing and 2) IFS or Internal Family Systems Therapy. In a very SAFE manner, these methods of therapy go deeper and are VERY effective. I emphasize the word SAFE because NOTHING is ever discussed unless YOU are comfortable discussing it. You're "the boss" as to what we cover or discuss in therapy.
