As a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT), I specialize in the treatment of anxiety using multiple approaches to recovery.
I use solution-focused therapy to build on all clients’ strengths with empathy and, occasionally, humor. I connect with youth through their favorite media and pop culture to develop creative solutions for personal and interpersonal success. Dr. Taitz can collaborate with schools, coaches, and doctors to find the best, integrated approach for you and yours. I specialize in cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-i; the gold standard for insomnia treatment), imagery rehearsal therapy (empirically proven for nightmare reduction), and lucid dreaming therapy (a new treatment using your awareness of being in a dream). As improved sleep helps physical and mental health, we will work together to find the best sleep skills for you.
My deepest wish is for you to know that you have everything you need in order to be happy RIGHT NOW. You are enough. And if you have a partner(s), you deserve happiness in your relationship. Has something in your life led you to believe this isn’t true? My passion is to support you in healing the wounds of the past, fostering a loving relationship with yourself and with others, and becoming comfortable in your own skin. If you are a parent of a child who is in need of support I want to be able to support your entire family in working together to find the best path for all of your happiness and success.

As the director of Guide Therapy Services, my mission is to tailor an individualized environment where you can cultivate well-being, re-align with your intuition, and use a healthy self-understanding to further your advancement of effectively moving towards your needs and goals. In practice, I incorporate current evidenced-based research on the connections that exist between emotional and physical well-being with my conscientiously rigorous educational and clinical experiences as the cornerstone in the work I do with individuals, couples, and families from all walks of life. Some people begin to search for a therapist when they feel like they have run out of options and need a change. Others simply seek counseling to help boost their personal growth and ability to progress more effectively towards their optimal goals. Whatever the initial motivations are, all of my clients can expect a safe, non-judgmental and peaceful environment where they can work towards creating positive change, at their own pace.

Let’s talk and better understand your needs and the issues as we prioritize where we need to begin. I have been a licensed psychotherapist in 3 states for over 35 years, and am interested in you, curious about your life experiences, and continue to learn from you! I use a combination of therapeutic approaches, including Expressive, Solution Focused and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I do not prescribe medication. I am easy to talk to, nonjudgmental and able to share some relevant personal and professional experiences to allow you “to know” the person you’re sharing your most personal life challenges with. I have a sense of humor, and share this as well!
People come to therapy for two basic reasons: they feel bad and want to feel better, or, they simply want to grow and improve their lives. Feeling better should be about resolve- not just relief. Getting there can be achieved with an organized set of principles (or tools, if preferred) that anyone can use. A similar set of principles can be used for improving the qualities of our relationships- whether that relationship is with ourselves or others.
I specialize in helping busy adults better manage symptoms of stress and anxiety and become more present, engaged, and purposeful in their daily lives. My approach is tailored to each unique individual and based on their specific contexts, goals, preferences, and needs. I utilize evidence-based treatment approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based interventions to help each client move toward their goals. In my sessions, I meet each client with gentle curiosity as we together begin to understand how their anxiety, stress, or other challenges function within the larger context of their life and values. From there, we work together to develop practical strategies to create positive changes that are in alignment with their goals and fit within their busy lives. I offer daytime, weekend, and evening appointments through a secure online video platform. Please reach out to schedule a free 15-minute phone call to see if my practice would be a good fit. I hope to hear from you!
You help everyone else, but who helps you? Anger, stress, conflict keeping you stuck? As you rise in your profession, you might find fewer people you trust, fewer available mentors to help you deal with the increase in responsibility and stress. And your friends and family may not really understand your challenges. For 30+ years, I've been helping professionals, and families understand the "why" of their struggles and the "what next" strategies that can work right now! If your important conversations become angry debates (when all your really wanted was to get your point across- to be heard), if anger, conflict, and stress are hurting you professionally and personally, let's talk about how I can help. I know that asking for help might feel like the hardest thing you've ever done. I also know that taking that risk could help you feel much better. If you're unsure about starting or returning to therapy, let's talk - then you decide! You only need to make that first call. Please visit my website for more detailed information about me and about my practice. Or - email or call me to schedule an appointment or to set up a complementary phone consultation. I look forward to talking with you soon.
If you’re looking for life to get easier then you have found the right profile! My personal and professional experience have taught me how to help my clients achieve exactly that. My clients generally find me to be compassionate, knowledgeable, non-judge mental, and easy to connect with. Before I was a psychotherapist I was a client myself and have since recovered from the majority of what I struggled with and it is my intention to help you do the same. I specialize in the areas that I have personal experience with: trauma, substance abuse, anxiety, depression, and codependency. Dealing with these issues can be scary, difficult, and confusing, but with the right guide this process can be made significantly easier leading to an increased quality of life. I encourage you to reach out and book an appointment or consultation with me to find out if we are a good match.
The tools that help you develop successful careers are often not the same ones that help create a successful home life. As a psychologist with a diverse personal and professional background, I hope to help you develop the communication skills, self-healing, and personal growth that will lead to the intimate relationships you are wanting in your life.
